Energy Security 2022 Conference in Rzeszów – Save the Date!

Preparations are underway for the VII Scientific Conference “Energy Security – Pillars and Development Perspective” 2022.  

We already know the date of the 7th Conference “Energy Security – Pillars and organized by Rzeszow University of Technology and Lukasiewicz Institute for Energy Policy. This year it will be held on September 12-13th 2022, as every year in the Conference Center of the Rzeszów University of Technology.

Organized in Rzeszów for several years, the conference has become one of the most important industry events in the country, as well as one of the major conference events in the Podkarpackie province, Subcarpathian region. Among the partners are leading private and public energy companies and providing services for the energy industry. Participants include politicians, representatives of state administration (including Minister Piotr Naimski, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and the Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure), Presidents and Managers of the largest companies from the sector, such as the Energy Market Agency, ML System, PGE, PGNiG or Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne.

During the conference the results of their research are also presented by scientists and experts from most of academic centers and think tanks in the country, as well as from abroad.

This year the main topic of our panels will once again be the energy transformation. We want to show not only its necessity and inevitability, but also the benefits that can be transformation – says Mariusz Ruszel, PhD, Professor of the Rzeszów University of Technology and President of the Łukasiewicz Institute for Energy Policy, initiator of the conference cycle. – The transformation concerns every citizen, every local government, bigger and smaller enterprises, and finally entire countries and international entities, such as the European Union.

The issues of transformation include practically all subjects related to energy, such as works on the construction of a Polish nuclear power plant, hydrogen economy or electromobility.

For several years, the institute has been granting the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Awards in the field of energy security. So far, the laureates have been entrepreneurs, politicians or civil servants Dr. Piotr Naimski, Lars Lilleholt (Minister of Energy and Climate of the Kingdom of Denmark), Michał Kurtyka, Piotr Woźniak, Ted Garrish (American manager and politician) or Dawid Cycoń. During the 7th conference the results of the 2nd edition of the Competition for the Most Energy Innovative Local Government competition will also be adjudicated.
