The 11th edition of the Conference
‘Energy Security – Pillars and Development Perspective’
will be held in Rzeszów (Poland) on 28–29 September 2026

The conference “Energy Security – Pillars and Prospects for Development” is one of the most important conferences in Poland’s energy sector, serving as a forum for dialogue among representatives of public administration, non-governmental organizations, the academic and business communities, and the media.

The event is organized by the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Institute of Energy Policy (IPE) in cooperation with the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Rzeszów University of Technology (PRz) and with the support of the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Management of the Rzeszów University of Technology.

The aim of the conference is to contribute to academic and expert discussions on energy policy, energy security and the energy sector in the broadest sense.

Topics include:

  • The challenges of the energy transition in the context of energy system security and resilience
  • New technologies for strengthening energy infrastructure, such as drones, cybersecurity and aviation fuels
  • The local dimension of energy security, including energy communities, local energy balancing and the role of local government units and local communities as leaders of change

The Ignacy Łukasiewicz Award will be announced during the conference.

Over the course of the conference's 10 editions to date, we have heard a total of over 1,500 presentations. In 2016, the conference consisted of 9 discussion panels. By 2025, this had grown to include 25 plenary and thematic panels, as well as workshops focused on local security and energy resilience.

During the 10th anniversary edition in 2025, we had the honour and pleasure of hosting 280 participants from Poland and abroad, representing 140 companies and institutions, including 36 research centres and 10 local government entities. Participants included representatives from NATO, government agencies, the defence industry, renewable energy, aviation, IT, public safety, construction, manufacturing, legal services and banking. The event was covered by industry-specific, national and regional press.

The conference could not have taken place without the support of our friends. The 10th edition was supported by 60 partners and patrons, including 22 media patrons and 20 honorary patrons (among them the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ministry of State Assets).
